John McCain has suspended his campaign to focus on the economic crisis. The majority of the pundits are calling this a political ploy by McCain; I say it's a brilliant move. Here's why, McCain has admitted that the subject of economics is something he doesn't have a clue about. What better way to educate yourself on a subject that you know nothing about but to go to Washington and act like you're there to prevent the country from going into financial chaos.
Let's get real, John McCain is doing nothing more than throwing a 'Hail Mary' pass and hoping the voters are top receivers. Every time McCain starts slipping in the polls, he pulls some kind of stunt (choosing Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate) he thinks the voters will go for. Now all of a sudden the financial crisis is too important to run for President and deal with the financial crisis at the same time; give me a break. Exactly how dumb does McCain think the American voters are?
It was refreshing to see Barack Obama didn't go for McCain's latest ploy. I have to admit, I broke-out into a cold sweat until Obama came out and made a statement contrary to McCain's plot. Let's just face the facts, Democrats have caved on pretty much of all of the garbage the Republicans have tried to shove down their throats. McCain suggested Obama travel abroad, once Obama took McCain up on his advice and won the hearts of every citizen abroad, he was quickly branded as uppity and presumptuous. McCain suggested he and Obama should have debates, once Obama agreed, McCain wants to back out, citing the economic crisis is more important. Enough!!! I honestly believe the American people, even the McCain supporters are fed up with McCain thinking he can dictate what decision Obama make.
Hopefully this is one 'Hail Mary' pass that will be batted down by the voters. If we as free minded voters who doesn't have to risk being blown up while we stick our finger into purple ink to express our freedom of choice, choose to vote for someone who campaign on country first, but does everything to prove it's my campaign first; then we deserve what we get.

This is definitely a desperation move on behalf of the Republicans. It's clear to see when McCain is in trouble he pulls a "razzle dazzle" move as MSNBC likes to call it, to throw voters off of the real issues he is intentionally avoiding. Obama made a perfect argument in response to McCain when he stated that we the people need to hear from our presidential candidates on this issue in particular now more than ever.
I personally want to know where this is all going to go? What is the plan and how does my tax payer dollars contributing to a 700 BILLION dollar bail out on Wall street affect or benefit me down on Main Street?

I am tired of "our so called government officials" telling us (the people) what we need. What we need are leaders that will listen to the damn people for a change. Who am I kidding, government officials only listen to lobbyist and pretend to listen to the people (especially if they're campaigning). Do you remember Y2K, the Iraq War, the 9/11 lies and deceptions, Katrina Victims? Where is this urgency for the war veterans, the natural disaster victims, or for the 9/11 rescue workers? McCain said that he didn't even read the initial 3 page bailout plan and now he needs to urgently go to Washington to give his input on a subject that he knows nothing or very little about. What is he going to say that will be of any substance? I just wish the American people would stand up and come together. When someone tries to inform us with unpopular information we put labels on them and try to silence them. Why? Will the pain go away simply because we don't want to hear it? When there were opponents to the deregulation (1999) that contributed to this financial crisis, no one wanted to hear it. Did any main street taxpayers hear from wall street during their 100 billion dollar profit taking parties? Then why the hell are we hearing from them now? I think we should refuse the invitation to this party! I support any candidate that has the integrity and courage to tell to truth, no one expects perfection just do the job. Stop taking the bribes. As taxpayers we have to start holding these politicians accountable. If we perform poorly on our jobs, many times we are replaced! Wall street made a bet and lost.
Good Point! It is about accountability. It seems that different rules apply depending on which tax bracket you're in and your political affiliations. With the homeowners situation it is said that 65% of the homeowners who went under, actually qualified for prime mortgage loans but were still given subprime mortgages regardless. Subprime loans are most often the ones that come with unreasonable fees, hidden terms and conditions that are typically known to lead to defaults and foreclosures. This decision made by the banks is what led to the large number of foreclosures we are seeing now and was a huge contributing factor to the current state of the economy. This information leaves me to conclude that these banks certainly knew what they were doing and were well aware of the devastation it would cause. I believe they did target borrowers who couldn't understand what they were signing and knew they would never be able to meet the terms of their loans. It's really ridiculous! They are trying to get away with this with absolutely no consequences. All of the burden falling right back on the people that have already been absorbing the worst of this financial crisis for way too long.
